CalUMS Intranet: Policy and Regulation

CalUMS Policy and Regulation

Policies are the rules governing the implementation of university processes. Regulations, on the other hand, represent an implementation of policy and should evolve over time as new tools emerge, new processes are designed in response to internal or external changes. Together these written documents help CalUMS constituents understand how things get done.

  • Preface

With the continuous growth and progress made by the California University of Management and Sciences (CalUMS), the University moved to the Anaheim location (721 N. Euclid Street) in December 2007. Since then, CalUMS has increased significantly in size and stature. Associated with this planned growth is an increase in the number of Policies and Regulations to support the University's operation and to meet criteria set by State and Federal agencies as well as accrediting bodies.

In drafting this Manual, a basic management concept was followed and derived from theCalUMS's Mission Statement. The Manual allows for a standardized procedures and regulations to provide efficient and effective management of the University, allowing for a conducive and productive educational environment for all CalUMSconstituents.

Every effort has been made to secure input from the Board of Trustees, Deans, Advisors, Directors, Faculty, Staff and other administrators in the adoption of this Manual of Policy and Regulations. A codification system has been designed to provide maximum flexibility for new endeavors and changing operating conditions.
