Financial Aid

The purpose of Financial Aid is to assist students in paying for educational costs. CalUMS is scheduled to provide Financial Aid for qualified students strting from Fall, 2008 or Winter quarter 2009. The Financial Aid Office will be available to help students secure funds through a variety of aid programs available to assist students to pay for their education.

CalUMS Scholarship Program


Money received from scholarship sources does not have to be repaid. At CalUMS there are scholarships available for entering students and limited scholarship sources available to students who are matriculated. To be considered for available scholarships, complete scholarship request form (along with all supporting documentation) must be received in the administrative officer by the appropriate deadline date.

President Scholarship Award

From time to time, the President awards scholarship in unspecified amounts to exceptional students whose performance in academics, involvement in student activities, and services to the University. The President presents the scholarships to the students during the quarterly Student Orientation for new students.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

CalUMS awards scholarship to one (1) student every quarter. The scholarships are awarded based on the following:

  1. Completed at least two (2) quarters of full-time study at the University
  2. Earned a cumulative quarter grade point average (CGPA) of 3.75 or higher.
  3. Involved in activities and/or services to fellow students, the University, and the student activities.
  4. Demonstrated a genuine need for financial assistance.

Prospective recipients are encouraged to submit an application to the appropriate Program Student Advisor by the finals week of the academic quarter. Scholarship Award Committee reviews and evaluates the applications. Appropriate Program Advisor will notify the student of the award by the first week of the following academic quarter. The Academic Dean presents the scholarship to the student during the quarterly Student Orientation for new students. Qualified students may not receive more than three (3) scholarships during his/her tenure at the University

Alumni Association Scholarship Award

From time to time, CalUMS alumni may donate scholarship funds for students. The Scholarship Award Committee reviews the criteria for awarding the scholarship. The President presents the scholarships to students the quarterly Student Orientation for new students.

Special Scholarship Award

From time to time, CalUMS may receive funds from anonymous donors to assist particular students financially. The Scholarship Award Committee reviews the criteria for awarding the scholarship, if the recipient is not designated by the donor. The President presents the scholarships to the designated students during the quarterly Student Orientation for new students.

Student Council Scholarship Award

From time to time, Student Councils may receive funds from anonymous donors to assist particular students financially. The Student Council, together with the Scholarship Award Committee, will designate the recipient for the awards. The Student Council President presents the scholarships to the designated students during the quarterly Student Orientation for new students.
