  ABOUT CALUMS: University Background

 

 

 

 

Established in 1998 California University of Management and Sciences (CalUMS) is organized as a non-profit, public benefit corporation, charted in the State of California.

CalUMS is an institution of higher education which offers an associate's degree in Healthcare Business Administration; bachelor's degrees in Business Management, and Economics, and International Business and Computer Information Systems; master's degrees in Business Administration, Economics, and International Business and Computer Information Systems. CalUMS also offers a program in English as a Second Language(ESL).

In 1998, the Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education of the State of California approved California College of Management and Sciences to grant Bachelor's and Master's degrees. In June 2002, the school changed its name to "California University of Management and Sciences".

In April 2006, Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) awarded CalUMS an grant of accreditation to offer certificates, associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
